Teller is scheduled to arrive at the farm in early Feb. He comes to us from MS where he was a stray that keep showing up in people's yards then disappearing only to reappear in another. This earned him the name Teller as in Penn & Teller, the magicians. This is also typical behavior of a great pyr left off leash in an unfenced yard, they know no boundaries!
Lucky for Teller the nice folks at Union County Humane were finally able to catch him and he has been in foster care while getting him vaccinated, neutered and ready for his big trip north.
We believe Teller is just under a year old. He is on the smaller side about 70 pounds so may still have a bit of growing to do. He is very sweet and doing well learning to walk on a leash and crate training and not being a wandering man.

If you are interested in this dog please fill out an online application on our website:

                         www.barkdogfarm.rescuegroups.org

Before applying be sure you have thoroughly researched Great Pyrenees.  They can be stubborn, prone to barking, overly protective and cannot be off leash.  You WILL NOT train a pyr to boundaries.

Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for dogs are $450. for adults over 12 months, $500 for puppies 12 months and younger.  Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized, up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months.

Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment.

Please know we practice Covid-19 guidelines for mask wearing and social distancing.  Only approved applicants are allowed to meet our dogs outdoors.

Please email barkingdogfrm@gmail.com with any questions.
