Border Collie / Mixed (long coat) : : Female : : Young : : Medium Learn more about the Border Collie.
Pawly is a 5 to 6 month old border collie or australian shepherd mix. She was a stray no one claimed. Pawly has been in foster care for the past month with varying sizes dogs from a toy breed to a great pyrenees as well as guinea pigs. Her foster mom describes her as friendly, affectionate, curious and energetic. Socializing will be key to helping this pup become a well rounded girl. Pawly loves to play with other dogs, soft toys, snuggling and get a good belly rub. We do not know how she would do with cats. She has met children and was fine but not been fostered with them. She is potty trained and does fine in a crate but needs to learn manners as she will jump on people when she is excited but she is still a pup after all and can still do the destructive chewing. She definitely needs help with leash walking. Pawly is happy to play in the fenced yard and can entertain herself but able to keep up on long walks and hikes. She would do best with a home that under stands herding breeds. If you are interested in this dog please fill out an online application on our website: https://barkdogfarm.rescuegroups.org Before applying be sure you have thoroughly researched herding breeds!!! Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now. Applicants must be at least 21 years old. A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called. A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place. If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid. Adoption fees for dogs are $450. for adults over 12 months, $500 for puppies 12 months and younger. Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized, up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate. Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months. Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment. Please know we practice Covid-19 guidelines for mask wearing and social distancing. Only approved applicants are allowed to meet our dogs outdoors.
