Ollie is a 18 to 24 month old great pyrenees mix who is neutered and looking for the appropriate experienced adopter. Ollie weighs about 85 pounds. Ollie is good with other dogs with the proper introduction. He is playful and friendly with his people once he gets to know and trust you. In fact he comes to you and cuddles but he has stranger danger and needs an owner willing to commit to continuing to work with him. Ollie will never be a social butterfly with people. He will need an owner that will be willing to keep him in a secured fence and not set him up for failure. Ollie loves being outside but will bark at cars, unfamiliar dogs and people. He will NOT do well in an urban setting. He needs a quiet home with a secure fence and preferably a female dog to play with. Ollie is a handsome boy but his barking at both unfamiliar people and dogs can be intimidating. We are unsure of his past but he was obviously unsocialized. Ollie has one adorable perky ear. He does have double dews which is a trait of the great pyrenees but suspect he also has samoyed in him. Ollie needs an experienced owner with a secure fence and will not be placed in a home with children.

Before applying be sure you have thoroughly researched Great Pyrenees.  They can be stubborn, prone to barking, overly protective and cannot be off leash.  You WILL NOT train a pyr to boundaries. 

Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for dogs are $450. for adults over 12 months, $500 for puppies 12 months and younger.  Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized, up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months.
