Hatfield and McCoy are 6 month old lab mix brothers that were found as strays in rural MS. They have been in a foster home where they have learned how to live in a home. Their foster reports Hatfield and McCoy love to run, they have exceptional nose skills, and would be good at tracking. They are use to being at the barn in the evenings with cats, sheep (that they were taught not to chase) horses that they loved them and showed no fear of them, cows they really didn’t even acknowledge. They are confident pups, quick to learn things, got along great with my dogs fit right into the pack. Love to go on walks. McCoy has the fur and build of a lab but has beautiful orange stripes. Pics dont do him justice. McCoy keeps his kennel clean and is quiet in it.

Before applying be sure you have thoroughly researched Great Pyrenees.  They can be stubborn, prone to barking, overly protective and cannot be off leash.  You WILL NOT train a pyr to boundaries. 

Please be sure all family members are in agreement to adopting and your family is ready to bring dog home now.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

A volunteer will be in touch to discuss your application and the dog to determine if it is a good match. Your vet and two references will be called.  A virtual home visit done. Once approved a meet and greet at the farm will take place.  If all are in agreement and the animal has received its NH health certificate an adoption contract will be signed and adoption fee paid.  Adoption fees for dogs are $450. for adults over 12 months, $550 for puppies 12 months and younger.  Fees for seniors, special needs or harder to place dogs will be determined by our Board of Directors. All dogs will be altered when adoption is finalized, up to date on age appropriate core vaccines, negative for parasites, heart worm and lyme tested if 6 months or older, microchipped and have a current health certificate.  Proof of a basic obedience course completed is part of our adoption contract within six months.

Our descriptions are based on shelter evaluations, input from foster homes and interactions with our volunteers but are in no way a guarantee of temperment.

Please know we practice Covid-19 guidelines for mask wearing and social distancing.  Only approved applicants are allowed to meet our dogs outdoors.
